Derrick Bryant, 38, passed away in Perkinston, MS on October 7, 2025. He was born in Hattiesburg, MS on January 21 1987 to the late Hilton “Pee Wee” Bryant and Dreamer Bryant.
Derrick Bryant was a man who brightened every room he walked into. He was kindhearted, helpful, and always the first to lend a hand—never hesitating to help others no matter the task. A true people person, Derrick had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was known for his playful spirit and for occasionally tripping over himself, always turning it into a laugh. He loved to fish, work out, and spend time with his family, the people who meant the most to him. Derrick loved simple joys—his new truck, his puppy, a good day of fishing, and time spent with loved ones. Those who knew him will remember his big heart, his laughter, and the way he made everyone feel valued.
Derrick was a devoted husband, loving father, proud brother, and loyal friend. He was a believer in Christ Jesus and loved his newfound church family. He proudly served his country in the Iraq War from 2006 to 2010, and that service remained one of his proudest accomplishments. His dedication, strength, and hard work reflected the same honor he showed in every part of his life. To know Derrick was to love him, and his memory will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have been part of his life.
Derrick was preceded in death by his loving parents, Hilton “Pee Wee” Carrol Bryant and Dreamer Bryant. Derrick is survived by his devoted wife, Alicia Bryant; daughter, Kaleigh Bryant; stepdaughter, Gracelyn Hickman; brother, Ernie Bryant; and niece, Kelsey Gollott.
