Mr. Derrick Rollins

Mr. Derrick Alexander Rollins, son of Ronnie Rollins, and Phyllis Lundy Rollins, was born in Raleigh, North Carolina on August 4, 1978. He transitioned on Friday, July 19th, 2024 in Newport News, VA.
Derrick was born and raised in Raleigh, North Carolina. If you ask Derrick, he was a perfect specimen and the blueprint for what a child should be, but if you ask any of his family members, they have multiple stories about his childhood that involve hilarity, foolishness and mischief. In addition to stories of mischief, his family will also tell you that Derrick was smart, resourceful and creative.
As an adult, Derrick has worked a variety of jobs, and has held different titles and positions. While working, Derrick also produced music. Derrick has produced music for a large number of artists in the music industry, in multiple music genres, and his music is easily accessible on the internet.
In addition to producing music, Derrick has also mentored young adults in the community, and has often encouraged them to follow their dreams, and to strongly pursue their life goals. He routinely put his needs aside to assist others, and was the type of man who would pour his entire existence into people, without wanting anything in return but to see them succeed.
Derrick enjoyed spending time with his friends and family, cooking on the grill, listening to music, and playing video and board games. He was a fully engaged, loving, and dedicated father and husband, and his wisdom and guidance will be missed. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; children, Ke'lon and Tayden; father, Ronnie Rollins; mother, Phylllis Lundy Rollins (Bill); sister, Joy (Chris); sister, Myia; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
His final reminder to those who loved him is to fill your life with what matters, and to live your life with purpose and intention. May his journey home be soft and peaceful.
