Derrick Wayne Simpson

Derrick Wayne Simpson, age 37 of Heidrick, Kentucky departed this life on Thursday, November 20, 2025. He was the son of Billy and Delena Mills and was born on August 20, 1988. Derrick graduated from Knox Central High School.

He is preceded in death by grandparents: Ada and Virgil Simpson, Raymond Mills,

children: Millison Simpson of Oneida, KY, Lexi Abner of Williamsburg, KY, Christopher Abner of Jellico, TN, Kaitlyn Abner of Heidrick, KY, Taylor Abner of Heidrick, KY, Penelope Siler of Heidrick, KY, a grandchild Due in March, Sister: Lisa Ansbro (and Husband Brice Ansbro) of Corbin, KY,and grandmother Betty Mills
He is also survived by many friends and other relatives.

Funeral services for Derrick will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Don Napier, Rev. Tim Gray, officiating. he will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends and family.

Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to the service at 2:00 p.m.
