Derrick Sloan Obituary
Derrick Tracy Sloan, 38, of Waterloo, SC, passed away, Friday, October 17, 2025.
He was born July 23, 1987 in Greenwood, SC, and was the son of Lemar and Dorothy Davis Sloan. Derrick was a 2005 graduate of Laurens District 55 High School.
In addition to his parents, Derrick is survived by his twin brother, Dustin (Megan) Sloan of Waterloo; his grandfather, Rufus Davis of Gray Court; his grandmother, Caroline M. Vines of Laurens; his niece, Shyanne Sloan; his nephews, Bryson and Carter Sloan; his first cousin who was raised in the home, Crystal (Steven) Kamyszek and their eight children of Ninety-Six; and his aunt, Phyllis (Larry) Crider of Mooresboro, NC.
Derrick was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Patricia Lambert, his paternal grandfather, Melvin Sloan, and his uncle, Mark Sloan.
A Memorial Service will be held, Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 4:00 PM, at the Gray Funeral Home Chapel of Laurens with Rev. Todd Johnson officiating.
The family will greet friends at the home Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 PM, 391 Ridgewood Harbor Road, Waterloo, SC 29384.
