Derril Ray Bibby, 84, passed away on November 9, 2025. He was born on April 15, 1941, and lived a life marked by devotion to family, quiet strength, and steady kindness.
Derril was a loving husband to his wife of 60 years, Katherine Louise O'Brien Bibby, and a caring father to Brett and Brandon. He cherished time spent with his granddaughter, Ashlyn Rae, creating memories filled with exploration and adventure.
A U.S. Army veteran, Derril married Kathy on July 2, 1965. Their life together took them from the Chicago suburbs to Atlanta and ultimately to Houston, where they raised their family. After retiring in 1998, Derril and Kathy enjoyed years between their home in Bremond, Texas, summers in Otto, North Carolina, and travels across the country before settling in Kingwood.
Derril will be remembered for his integrity, persistence, quick wit, and dependable nature, Derril touched the lives of all who knew him.
Derril is preceded in death by his father, Raymond "Rex" Bibby, his mother, Edith Irene Rush Bibby Legro, his stepmother, Julia Boyd Bibby Blackmon, and his two older brothers, Wayne Bibby and Jerry Bibby. He is survived by his wife, Katherine, his two sons, Brett and Brandon, his grand-daughter Ashlyn Rae and his half-sister, Carol Cameron Smothers.
