Desharon Edwards Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by DW Brooks Funeral Home on Aug. 2, 2023.
With profound sorrow, we bid farewell to our beloved DeSharon Louise Edwards, known to us all as Sharon. A woman of faith, strength, and grace, she was called home by our Lord on August 1, 2023. Born in Midland, Texas, on February 10, 1952, Sharon was a gem of the Lone Star State, a beacon of love and resilience who touched countless lives. Sharon was the cherished daughter of the late Gene Elvis Morris and the loving Pearlie Mae Morris. She was born into a close-knit family and remained the adhesive that held them together. Her sisters, Mary Ellen Flunder and Jean Evelyn Williams, will remember her as a confidante and source of strength, while her late brother, Mack Danny Morris, Sr., watched over her from heaven.
In 1976 The Lord blessed Sharon with a son, JeMel Fitzgerald Edwards, from her union to Harold Dean Edwards. Her love overflowed to her daughter-in-law, Tamika Rechell Edwards, and her precious grandchildren, Madison Rena' Williams, and the late Jewan Fitzgerald Edwards. In addition to these, Sharon's unconditional love and indomitable spirit will be remembered by: her aunt, Ida B. Mitchell; nephews, Anthony J. Flunder, Christopher E. Flunder, Charles O. Williams, and Mack D. Morris Jr.; niece, Amber D. Morris; great-nieces, Ambreiya Macafee, Brijonae Morris, Makayla Morris, and Maxine Morris; and great-nephew, Logan Morris.
Sharon's journey of learning started at Booker T. Washington Elementary School and continued at George Washington Carver Junior and Senior High School. She graduated from Lee High School in 1970, then furthered her education at Midwestern State University and Houston Community College, where she earned an associate degree. Sharon was a woman of intellect and determination, always striving to better herself and set an example for those who looked up to her. Our dear Sharon dedicated many years of her life to SOLAR TURBINES, where she served as an engineering secretary until her retirement. She was a pillar of her workplace, admired for her professionalism, diligence, and the warmth she brought to every interaction. Even in retirement, Sharon's influence was felt, and her legacy continues to inspire her colleagues. Deeply spiritual, Sharon was baptized at Lee St. Church of Christ at an early age. She worshipped at the Garden Oaks Church of Christ, where she was a beloved member of the congregation. Her faith was a guiding light in her life, providing her with strength and solace in times of hardship. Sharon's unwavering belief in the Lord was an inspiration to us all, a testament to her deep and abiding faith.
Sharon's interests were as varied as they were profound. She held a deep love for music, a passion she often shared with her family during their cherished gatherings. Her dog, Bowzer, was a constant source of joy and companionship. Sharon was a masterful cook; her dishes were the highlight of any family event. A lover of western shows, she could often be found in front of the television, immersed in tales of cowboys and frontier life. And who could forget her love for the dollar store, a place where she found joy in the simple pleasure of a good bargain? In the sunset of her life, Sharon returned to the Lord, passing peacefully of natural causes in Houston, Texas. As we mourn her passing, let us also celebrate her life, for she was a woman of remarkable strength, faith, and love. Let us remember her not with tears, but with joy, for she has found peace in the arms of the Lord. DeSharon Louise Edwards, you will forever be in our hearts. Your spirit lives on in the love you shared, the wisdom you imparted, and the faith you demonstrated.
May you rest in eternal peace, Dear Sharon, until we meet again in the Lord's Heavenly Kingdom.
