Desiree Delaine Newkirk passed away on November 21, 2024, at the age of 34. Born on February 1, 1990, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the cherished daughter of Carla Newkirk and George Mendez.
Desiree was preceded in death by her grandparents, Marion Fred Newkirk and George and Lucia Mendez II.
She leaves behind her three beloved children, Jessica, Aurelia, and Logan, who were the light of her life. She is also survived by her loving mother, Carla (Vince Thomas) Newkirk, and father, George (Taunya) Mendez; her brothers, Joey Mendez and Andrew (Hannah) Mendez; her nephews, Leo and Ezra Mendez; and her grandparents, Troy and Kathy Carpenter. She will also be dearly missed by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Desiree graduated as Valedictorian in 2007 from Country Garden Charter School in Arizona, a testament to her hard work and dedication.
Desiree had a radiant and beautiful soul that touched the lives of everyone she met with her compassion, giving spirit, and sharp sense of humor. She was always ready to lend a helping hand and offer kind words to those in need. Desiree was deeply passionate about her convictions and never hesitated to stand up for what she believed was right.
Desiree will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted daughter, and steadfast friend. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate to know her.
Services will be held Saturday, November 30th, 2024 at Sawyer-George Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, TX. Public Viewing 11am - 12pm. Funeral at 12pm followed with a reception at Best Western Northwest Community Room, 3838 US Highway 77.
