Ms. Dessie Lorene Mroz

Lorene Mroz, 88, of Anderson, passed in the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, December 14, 2016 at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was born February 28, 1928, in Edmonton, Kentucky to the late John and Sarah (Wells) Hendrick and has lived in Anderson for the past 30 years. Lorene had worked for RCA in Marion for seventeen years and had her own Custom Drapery Business until her retirement. She had attended Madison Christian Church Disciples of Christ in Frankton. She is survived by her children, Judy (Robert) Collins of Anderson, Carol (Charles) Alvernaz of Pittsboro, IN, Janice (Ray) Witcher of Anderson and Randy Salmon of Frankton; step children, Tonna (Drew) Warren of Cincinnati, OH and Toby (Gloria) Mroz of Aurora, IN; grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Kurt, Vicki, Darrin, Andrew, Steve, Melanie, Marie, David, Carrissa, Pete, Danna, Ryan, Corey and Shanda; great grandchildren, Bridgette, Brittany, Sam, Charlotte, Nataleigh, Austin, Sidney, Grant, Lauren, Olivia, Sophie, Evan, Eden, Eli, Noah, Jacie, Jill, Dahlia, Oliver, Cooper, Marilyn and Samuel; great great grandchildren, Mark, Peyton, Eli, Mya and Evoli; brother, Estle (Wanda) Hendrick of Frankton; sister in law, Mildred Hendrick of Marion; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Peter Mroz; stepson, Bill Mroz; granddaughter, Christina Lorene Witcher; great great granddaughter, Josalynn Leigh Cross; son in law, Mike Whetsel; five brothers, Fred, Elbert, Elvis, Roy and Thomas Hendrick; five sisters, Bertha McCune, Irene Garmon, Hettie Wilson, Lucille Garrett and Doris Salmon. Services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, December 18, at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Service & Crematory with Pastor Daryl Gilbert officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be 1:00-3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
