Devin and I met in middle school. I had the biggest crush on him and was drawn to his overly large smile. He was sweet, kind, and his popularity was well known. The guys wanted to be his friend..."Deebo". The girls wanted to claim him. Devin was humble and shy. I remember he purchased a Valentine´s necklace for me, completely unexpected - he was thoughtful and kind. We lost touch during high school as we attended two different schools. We connected years after - he was still always smiling, spreading positivity. It breaks my heart to know he struggled with addiction. You´ll be missed by many Devin. Time to rest friend!

Deebo was my friend in early sobriety. We both got sober young so we spent a lot of time together playing video games, talking on the phone, going out to breakfast at 2 AM, and attending some "normie" parties in the area that he always knew about. Deebo was a kind soul and didn't deserve the disease that took his life, the same disease that takes so many members of our community. I love you Deebo and I will cherish the memories we had together. You will be remembered with love, bro.

Devin and our son Chris participated in numerous sports growing up together starting with T-ball. I was also fortunate to have Devin as one of my students at South Bay when I was teaching 3rd grade. I would have my students sit in groups of 4, and change these groups constantly throughout the year. I would ask each child to list 4 girls and 4 boys that they would like to sit with when I made up new seating arrangements, and Devin was the only student who was chosen by almost every student in my class. He was cheerful, enthusiastic, positive, and creative. When I read about his death, I couldn't help but sob. Our condolences to his family and friends...
