St. George, Utah - Devin Lee Chadburn (Rustad), 19, passed away in
St. George, Utah on February 17, 2023. He was born on April 1, 2003, in
St. George, Utah at Dixie Regional Medical Center, the son of Damien Lee Rustad and Juenita Maria Chadburn. Devin also had a role model and father-figure, Jerimy Jeff Chadburn. Devin was raised in
St. George, UT, but spent most of his childhood in Veyo, Utah.
Devin attended local schools and graduated with his diploma in 2021 from Pine View High School. Devin had a passion and love for sports. He played football, basketball, wrestling (placing in regions) and ran track as a youth. He loved everything about sports. Devin's favorite sports teams were the Seattle Seahawks and the Utah Jazz.
He also had a love for the Boy Scouts of America. He learned so many life skills that he used throughout life.
Devin had a spiritual background and loved his Heavenly Father. Devin was baptized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and grew to love his callings and serve his Heavenly Father as a youth. Devin was blessed with many great examples and role models in the church while growing up. He was surrounded by wonderful men that stepped up and took Devin under their wings. Over the years, Devin transitioned into finding himself and his own spiritual beliefs and connecting to a Higher Power. He believed in being his true authentic self and that was important to him. He always fought hard to stand up for the underdogs and what was right in life.
Devin loved to have fun and working hard was also something he was great at doing. His favorite jobs over the years were working at the Haunted Houses each Fall season because he was able to just be himself. Devin has worked at several places and didn't go after the easy jobs, but focused on ones that were hard and were interesting to him.
He had many talents and skills and was very hands-on. He loved woodworking and made several treasures that we will always cherish. He also loved sewing.
He was very adventurous and outgoing - always busy and on-the-go! He loved going on trips and vacations. Most of his birthdays were spent going out of town and having fun. Devin also had a love for clothes and shoes and he had quite the collection. He was always dressing to impress.
Devin had a smile & laugh that was contagious and we will miss that smile every day and picture it often. Devin loved his son's mother more than anything. He was so proud of her. His love for her was so special. When Devin became a father, it was the most beautiful sight to see. Devin always had a light about him, no matter what he was personally going through, whenever he was around his son. He was the absolute best daddy and so proud and protective of his son. He chose to enter recovery for his future and for his son.
He is survived by his mother, Juenita Chadburn; father, Damien Rustad; stepfather, Jerimy Chadburn; his son, Legend Lee Chadburn; grandmother, Barbara LeBeau; bonus siblings, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins and his recovery family and many friends.
