Devon Todd Obituary
Born in Wilmington, DE on October 4, 1966, he was a son of Betty (Blackston) Todd and the late Norman H. Todd, Sr. Devon attended Broadmeadow Elementary School, Louis L. Redding Middle School and graduated from Middletown High School in 1985.
On June 28, 1991, Devon and Ardie were joined in Holy Matrimony in Elkton, MD. For 31 blissful years, they enjoyed traveling, playing spades, and hosting family gatherings.
For 33 faithful years, Devon had the pleasure of working for W.L. Gore & Associates in Newark, DE. His sociable personality proved to be perfect with him working in guest services at the Barksdale Conference Center. He easily formed an abundance of friendships that lasted a lifetime. With much hesitation, after undergoing two brain surgeries he reluctantly retired August 1, 2022.
Spending time with family was a priority! Devon loved to tantalize and harass his nieces and nephews. Having fun with friends during lunch dates and happy hours at various restaurants brought him happiness. Oh yes! Let's not forget he was a fan of those E – A – G – L – E – S!!!
Devon is preceded in death by his father, Norman H. Todd, Sr. He is survived by his loving wife, Ardie Lou Frances (Walker) Todd; mother, Betty A. Todd; 3 sisters, Charmaine Coates, Norma Todd (Jay), Carmen Frazier (Charles); 2 brothers, Unitas Todd, Sr. (Ruth), Norman Todd, Jr. (Kim); and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9 am until 11 am on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 275 E. Main Street, Middletown, DE, where a funeral service will begin at 11 am. Interment will follow in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. Dupont Highway, New Castle, DE.

It was a pleasure and an honor to know Devon. He was a valuable part of the team that repurposed Barksdale from an empty plant to a Capability Center. Devon and I were Eagles and Phillies fans. We watched the Phillies World Series victory parade in 2008 on the large screen at Barksdale. We constantly spoke about the Eagles and it´s great that Devon was able to see the Birds win the Super Bowl in 2018. It is also wonderful that he was able to see the Phillies make it to the World Series in 2022. Thanks Devon for some great memories.

Devon was one of the kindest souls I ever had the pleasure of knowing. My heart breaks for his family, Norman I pray you are doing well. Know that you all have an angel watching over you. Look for the signs, they will surely be there. Hugs to all.

Rest in peace Devon! I will always remember your smiling face when visiting the Barksdale plant. I am sure you planted many seeds of kindness throughout the years at Gore, it is the inherent nature of the Todd family. It was a joy walking into work and being greeted by Devon - he always had a friendly smile and kind word. He played a huge role in making our workplace feel like family. He´ll be missed always. My sincere condolences to Devon´s family.

My heart is sad for you all! Not sure how he shared his positive, loving and caring self but he was a true friend to many at Gore! To the Todd Family,
Working with Devon was one of the best things about working at Gore. He always had a smile on his face, was gracious and helpful in all that he did, and he always went the extra step to be sure things were just the way you needed them to be (and most times, the way we wanted them to be! - like chocolate in the training room after lunch!)
I will always smile when thinking of him!
