Devon S. Zackery

Devon Sentel "DZ" Zackery of Rockford departed this earthly life October 16, 2025. He was born October 26, 1974 in Rockford, IL the son of Gregory and Sabrina Zackery. Devon was a self-employed barber over 30 years. He attended Covenant Community Church of God. Devon attended East High School, later received his GED and graduated from Lincoln Barber College.

Devon leaves to cherish many loving memories, his sons Devian L. Zackery and Devantay Zackery; four daughters, Ashlyn L. (James) Wright, Devoni Zackery, Amyah Zackery and Nadia Zackery; six grandchildren, James, Carter, Jackson, Jace, Zara and Zain; mother, Sabrina Zackery; two sisters, Mehrnanique Zackery, and Q ; two brothers, Farren Zackery and Tyler White-Zackery; a host of nieces, nephews cousins other relatives and friends, including special cousins Sharod Hall and Cedric Sockwell. He was predeceased by his father, Gregory Zackery; paternal grandparents Stella Mae Williams and Rufus Sam Zackery; maternal grandparents, CarieV Hall and Clarence Hall.

Services will be held 12:00 noon Friday October 24, 2025 at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home Inc. Visitation 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
