Dewain Loughry Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stith Funeral Home of Danville on Apr. 22, 2025.
Dewain Loughry, 66, died surrounded by his family on April 20, 2025. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, remembered for his quiet strength, unwavering support, and dedication to his family. Dewain was born on December 24, 1958, to the late Vernon Loughry and the late Joyce Richardson in Greenville, Kentucky. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Troy Loughry.
Dewain spent his career in the gas industry, working with Atmos Energy in construction, where he dedicated himself to his job and colleagues. A man of few words but loving character, he never complained, embodying resilience and integrity throughout his life.
An avid sports enthusiast, Dewain found joy in watching baseball, particularly supporting the Atlanta Braves and the University of Kentucky teams. He cherished time spent outdoors, whether fishing, hunting, or engaging in friendly games of cards. Above all, he treasured his role as "Pop" to his grandson, Lincoln, who brought him immense joy.
Dewain is survived by his loving wife, Kimberly Loughry, and his two sons, Josh Loughry and Ian Loughry, daughter-in-law B. J. Loughry, and his beloved grandson, Lincoln Loughry. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends, who will remember him for his incredible kindness and love.
Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life from 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, April 25, 2025, at Stith Funeral Home, Danville.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Danville-Boyle County Humane Society in Dewain's honor. His legacy of love, strength, and quiet determination will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
