Dewayne R. Hudson Sr.

Dewayne R. Hudson, Sr. 77, of Indianapolis, passed away on December 10, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1948 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Donald and Alice (Minks) Hudson.
Dewayne proudly served in the United States Army from 1967- 1970. He was a member of the Beech Grove Masonic Lodge, the Beech Grove Moose, and the Greenwood VFW and American Legion.
Dewayne truly loved the work he did as a tax preparer for H & R Block. He also worked as an Insurance Agent for Bolander-Ianni Insurance, and Shepherd Insurance and also enjoyed serving as an usher at Victory Field for the Indianapolis Indians- another role he took pride in.
Throughout his life, Dewayne touched countless young lives through coaching youth baseball, softball, and basketball, always giving his heart to the kids he mentored.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth "Sue" Hudson; children, Kimberly (Stephen) Nohlechek, Jennifer Henson, and Dewayne (Amy) Hudson Jr.; grandchildren, Kirstyn Nohlechek, Klayre Nohlechek, Gracie Henson, Jacob Hudson, Riley Henson, Wyatt Hudson, and Chloe Hudson; great grandson, Sullivan Stevens; sister, Darlene Scalo; mother in law, Martha Jenkins; and several nieces and nephews whom he loved very much.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kylie Hudson.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM Monday with a Masonic Service taking place at 7:00 PM at G.H. Herrmann Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135, Greenwood, IN 46143. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 AM Tuesday, December 16, 2025.
Dewayne will be laid to rest with military honors at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
