Deweese Copher, 77, passed away Friday following a short illness. He was born August 5, 1947 to the late Clark and Lula Yarber Copher. He was a farmer and Co-owner of C&S Western Wear in Owingsville and a Vietnam Veteran, but during his life he dedicated much of his time to the advancement of agriculture in his community. He was also a founding member of the Eastern Kentucky Quarter Horse Association and was a member of the American Quarter Horse Association. In 1995, all of his many efforts in the agriculture industry led to him being awarded Bath County Farmer of the Year.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife Glenna Copher of Owingsville; two sons Chad Copher and Ebony (Jessica) Copher all of Owingsville; two brothers Alton and Douglas Copher both of Owingsville; and three grandchildren Isabella Copher, Ava Copher and Harper Copher.

He was preceded in death by his first wife and the mother of his children Sharon Copher; five brothers Ralph Copher, Whitten Copher, Lewis Copher, Oscar Copher, and J.T. Copher; and three sisters Beulah Vance, Emma Lee Bailey, and Eulala Donohue.
