Dewey Barrett

Rogersville: Dewey Wilson Barrett, age 80, of Rogersville, went to his Heavenly home, Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was a member of Longs Bend Baptist Church. Dewey was a lifelong resident of Hawkins County. He enjoyed farming, roofing, cooking, logging and hunting. Dewey had many friends, family and never met a stranger. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Maud McLain Barrett; son, Mikey Barrett; great-granddaughter, Katie Barrett; brothers, Garnie Lee Barrett, Roy "Junior" Barrett; daughter-in-law, Lisa Barrett; sister-in-law, Kathy Barrett; brother-in-law, Carson Jeffers; mother of his children, Betty Barrett Burchfield; fiancée, Jane Kirkpatrick.
He is survived by his daughters, Frankie (Rick) Thacker and Karla (Larry) Delph; sons, Dee Barrett, Phillip (Shelly) Barrett, Gregory Scott Barrett and Preston McNally; sister, Helen Jeffers; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; aunt, Myrlie Cradic; special friends, Deuce Kirkpatrick, Jim Herron, Jamie Rogers, Herman Mayes and Barney Henley; several nieces and nephews. A special thank you to Signature HealthCARE of Rogersville and Caris Hospice.
Visitation hours will be 12:00 Noon to 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville.
Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 P.M., Saturday, November 22, 2025 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Haun and Rick Thacker officiating. Burial will follow in the Kirkpatrick Cemetery.
