Dewey Younts Obituary

Dewey Younts, age 91, from Cape Coral, Florida died on August 18, 2025 at Hope Hospice in Cape Coral, Florida. Dewey was born in Muskegon, Michigan on November 19, 1933 to Dewey & Vera (Briggs) Younts. Dewey had two brothers who predeceased him, Morrey Younts & Jack Younts. Dewey married Dorothy Spaniola on September 26, 1953 in Muskegon, Michigan. Dorothy predeceased Dewey on October 8, 2022. They had been married for 69 years. Dewey was an army veteran and was stationed in Fort Knox, Kentucky. Dewey and Dorothy had two daughters, Terri and Debbie (predeceased). Dewey and Dorothy moved to Cape Coral in 1979 from Muskegon Michigan. Dewey was a beloved father and grandfather and those who knew him would say he was a kind and gentle person. Dewey worked as a liquor salesman in Muskegon and in Fort Myers, Florida and retired in 2003. They loved to play golf and enjoyed traveling. Dewey is survived by his daughter, Terri ( Terry) McCabe, Pat Philbin, grandchildren Keisha Westbrook, Brent and Shawn Philbin and 2 great grandchildren.

There will be a mass to honor Dewey's life on Wednesday, September 9, 2025 at 11AM at St. Andrews Catholic Church chapel, 2628 Del Brado Blvd S, Cape Coral Florida 33904. Fuller Metz Cremation and Funeral Services is in charge of arrangement, 239-542-3161.
