Dewitt Hayward Perkins Jr

DeWitt Hayward "De-Poet" Perkins, Jr. entered eternal rest on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at the age of 75. DeWitt was born on November 1, 1950, in Oakland, California. DeWitt was educated in California at Oakland High School, and he attended the University of California at Hayward. He worked for PSA Air in California for over 17 years and after his move to New Orleans, LA, he worked for over 13 years for the Men's Wearhouse where he excelled as one of the company's top sales associates. DeWitt's gifted passion was writing poetry, and he was always willing to share his gift with everyone he met. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cecilia Breland-Perkins, his daughter Shar-De Perkins Herr (Jon), his grandson, Bryson, one sister, Sandra P. Frazier, nephew: Robert Hadden and niece Ryan Perkins. Also, survived by his stepdaughter, Kenya B. Hill (Stephen) and their children, Breland, Stephen, Jr., and Liana. DeWitt was preceded in death by his parents, DeWitt Hayward Perkins, Sr., and Lucille Washington Perkins.
