Dexter Carl Aultman Sr

SMSgt (Ret) Dexter Carl Aultman, Sr., peacefully entered into eternal life. Born on October 3, 1947, in Oakvale, MS, to the union of J. T. and Clarenda Pittman Aultman. Dexter was a 1965 graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in New Orleans. He enlisted in the USAF and served 20 combined years of active and reserve duty. He also worked for 28 years and retired from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as a Quality Assurance Specialist in the states of Louisiana (Martin Marietta NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans East), Florida (Cape Canaveral), and Mississippi (John C. Stennis Space Center). Carl was a member of Living Water Baptist Church.

His legacy will live on through his children: Shinell M. Aultman, Dexter Carl Aultman, Jr. (Nakita), and Tanya Poret (Kevin); grandchildren–Quentin Carl Armstrong, Camrynn Jazlynn Aultman, Paris Ade' Aultman, Tyron Matthew Evans, and Ronald Matthew Evans, Jr.; siblings–Brenda Aultman Bennett, Stanley R. Aultman (Joann), Kendall M. Aultman, Sr., Ivy S. Aultman, and Marvester J. Aultman; a special cousin who was like a brother, Gene Buckley, and a godchild, Brandy Jackson Palao. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Carl was preceded in death by his parents; eldest brother, Javis C. Aultman, Sr.; grandparents, Gazzie and Carrie Armstrong Pittman and Jake and Betty McClendon Aultman; sister-in-law, Wanda M. Aultman.

Friends and family are invited to attend the Celebration of Life Service on Saturday, February 28, 2026, for 10:00 a.m. at Living Water Baptist Church 2401 Elysian Fields Avenue, NOLA 70117. Visitation will begin at 9:00 am. Pastor James J. Santa Cruze, Jr., officiating.
