In Loving Memory of Dexter E. Sims-Howard March 8, 1964- October 6, 2025
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dexter E. Sims Howard who departed this life unexpectedly on October 6,2025 in Anchorage, Alaska. Dexter was born on March 8, 1984, in Anchorage to Dexter E. Sims of (Anchorage) Alaska, and Trynita T. Howard of (Jacksonville) Florida.
Dexter was a man of strength, humor, and heart. Those who knew him best will remember his generous spirit, infectious smile, and unwavering love for his family. He had a natural way of bringing joy to those around him and could light up any room with his laughter. Dexter valued loyalty and family above all else, and he carried a deep sense of compassion for others that left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
He was a proud father to his three children-Devonte Sims – Howard (Las Vegas) Nevada, Anahlia Lamb (Las Vegas) Nevada, and Zyana Sims-Howard (Anchorage) Alaska who were the greatest joys of his life. Dexter loved being a dad: he cherished every moment spent with his children, always striving to guide, protect, and inspire them.
Dexter is lovingly remembered by his Grandmother Mary Sims of (Anchorage), Alaska; his brothers Desmund E. Sims-Howard (Jene) Adrian A. Anderson of (Jacksonville) Florida and Dahmir Bell of (Anchorage) Alaska. He also leaves behind a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandparents- Willie O. Sims of (Anchorage), Alaska; Ellis Young of (Mobile) Alabama; Annie M. Howard of (Mobile ) Alabama whose love and guidance shaped much of the man he became.
Though Dexter's time on earth was far too short, the impact of his kindness, love, and laughter will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved him. His memory will continue to be a source of comfort, strength, and inspiration to his family and friends.
Funeral arrangements are to be determined and will be announced at a later date
