Diana Ann Brendemuhl, 82, long time resident of Felton, MN, died Saturday, January 20, 2024, in Farmstead Living, Moorhead, MN.
Diana was born on December 4, 1941, in Barnesville, MN, the daughter of Oswald and Marilyn (Poppel) Getz. Diana attended primary school in Wolverton, MN and later graduated from Barnesville High School in 1959.
On January 11, 1969, Diana was united in marriage to Alden Brendemuhl. Together they raised their blended family of five children; Michael, Kathleen, Paul, Kathy Ann and Linda.
Diana was a doting homemaker and farmers wife. She selflessly helped her husband in the fields while simultaneously raising her children. In early 1999, Diana’s selflessness shined through once again after she lost her daughter, Kathy Ann, to cancer at which time she and Alden welcomed Kathy Ann’s three young children, Wayne, Michelle and Jana, into their home with open arms.
Diana was an active member of Gloria Dei Lutheran Church in Felton, serving with the Ladies Aid for many years. In her free time, Diana enjoyed various hobbies throughout her life, including gardening, canning, golfing, bowling, word searches and jigsaw puzzles. Diana’s favorite pastime by far was playing Whist, Gin Rummy, or Pinnacle with her friends and family.
Diana was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and will be dearly missed. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Alden of Moorhead; daughter, Linda Brendemuhl of Fargo, ND; stepson, Paul (Chris) Brendemuhl of Lake Park, MN; stepdaughter, Kathleen (Kurt) Okke of Hawley, MN; grandchildren, Wayne (Meagan) Niemi, Michelle (Payne) Hensel, Jana (Andrew) Kensok, Kyle (Samantha) Okke, Korey Okke, Kasey (Jessica) Okke, Autumn Brendemuhl, Ethan (Christina) Brendemuhl and Winter (Preston) Brekhus; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Dorothy Kuehl of Moorhead, Donna Mae Askegaard of Moorhead, and Carol Leske of West Fargo, ND; and one brother, Dennis (Jane) Getz of Wolverton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Arthur Blilie; daughter, Kathy Ann Niemi; stepson, Michael Brendemuhl; brothers-in-law, Jerome Kuehl, Charles Askegaard, and Helmuth Leske.
Funeral Service for Diana will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 11AM in Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, Felton, MN. The visitation will be one hour prior. Interment will be in Felton Cemetery at a later date.
