Diana Villarreal Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Maxwell P. Dunne Funeral Service - Yorktown Blvd. on Aug. 17, 2025.

Publish in a newspaper

Diana Villarreal, a beacon of devotion and joy, left this world on August 12, 2025, at the age of 69, in her hometown of Corpus Christi, the same place where her story began on January 26, 1956. Born to the late Andres and Carmen Ybanez, Diana grew up surrounded by a large and loving family, which included her cherished siblings: the late Dulia (Manuel), Luisa, Lillie, Irma (Rey), Grace (Ed), Andy, Rene (Soyla), and Bob (Diana). Diana's life was one marked by dedication-to her family, her work, and her faith.

After graduating from Roy Miller High School in 1974, "Once a Buc, Always a Buc", she built a career as a Secretary and Accounts Payable Clerk at Orange Grove ISD, where she was a cornerstone for 32 years. Throughout her tenure, she was known for her meticulous attention to detail and her unwavering support for her colleagues and the community she served.

Her heart found its match in her late husband, Roger Villarreal, with whom she shared a loving marriage until his passing. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Eric (Natalie) and Jennifer (Pete), who then blessed Diana with five grandchildren: Noah, Gabrielle, Ezra, Eli, and Carmen. Diana's role as a grandmother was one of her greatest joys; she never missed an opportunity to be present at her grandchildren's activities, cheering them on with pride and love.

A devout Christian, Diana lived her faith daily, demonstrating through her actions the depth of her belief in kindness, compassion, and community. Her faith-filled nature was a source of strength and inspiration for all who knew her. Diana's passion for life extended to her love of sports.

She was an enthusiastic fan of the Houston Astros, the Dallas Cowboys, and Texas A&M athletics. Her spirited support was a testament to her Texas roots and her love for the game, whether it was a nail-biting playoff or a regular season game.

Those who knew Diana will remember her as a passionate and loving soul, a woman whose presence could light up a room. Her laughter was infectious, her smile a comfort, and her guidance a steady force. Diana's legacy is one of unwavering love and the joy she found in the simplest of moments. Diana's life was a tapestry woven with the threads of love, faith, and family. She has left an indelible mark on the hearts of her family and friends, who will forever cherish her memory.

As we bid farewell to Diana, we celebrate a life lived with purpose and passion, a life that touched so many, and a spirit that will continue to inspire for generations to come.

Services will be Saturday, August 23, 2025, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Texas. A Rosary will be recited at 10:30am, the funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00am with the burial to follow at St. John of the Cross Cemetery. Friends and family are all invited to a reception in honor of Diana at Pebbles with Ripples following the burial.
