Diana Wray Bakas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Nov. 22, 2025.
Diana "Diane" Wray Bakas, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, beloved wife, and mother of two sons, tragically passed away on November 17, 2025, leaving a void her family cannot fill.

Diane was born December 6, 1959. She was the daughter of Earl (deceased) and Virginia Wray of DuBois, PA. She grew up in DuBois and later moved with her husband and children to New Smyrna Beach, Florida, which she made her home.

In 1979, Diane married John Alan Bakas, who survives her and who cherished her companionship.

Diane was a devoted mother to sons Jason Alan Bakas and his wife Rose of Edgewater, Florida and Michael Anthony Bakas of Port Orange, Florida, and a proud grandmother to one grandson, Alex James Bakas; son of Jason and Rose. They were her pride and joy, who dearly miss her and to whom she provided love and support.

She is survived by her spouse, her children, a brother; Jeffrey Wray of DuBois, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family.

Diane lived a vibrant life and was taken far too soon.

Diane was one of the most beautiful and loved members of our high school class. Always upbeat and positive and a kind word to say. I always told her that time has stood still for her. She never aged. Till we see each other again Rest In Glory my dearest friend.
