Diandrea Denise, "Dee," "Dede" Ashworth Scott, aged 78, of Alexander, NC, joined her ancestral family at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, WV after passing on September 3, 2025. She is survived by husband, Morris Scott of Alexander, NC; two children, Corinne Scott of Alexander, NC and Jeff Scott (wife, Stacy) of Hillsboro, NC; grandchild, Jack Scott of Hillsboro, NC; two siblings, Kim Fennema (husband, Robert) of Brooksville, FL; Jim Ashworth (wife, Gayle), of Tappahannock, VA, and niece, Garnett Bayles (husband Gareth) of Richmond, VA; and many scattered cousins and friends.

Dede began her life in Huntington, WV on April 20, 1947 and shortly thereafter her parents, Jim and Agnes Ashworth, moved to the Richmond, VA area, where she lived until entering James Madison College in VA for a BS in Education. For 38 years Dee taught high school with a love and passion that was an integral part of Dee in all of her pursuits, be they beach combing at the Outer Banks, snow skiing, dancing, singing to Jimmy Buffet songs, organizing fantastic parties, ordering Mexican restaurant food & bantering with the staff – in immaculate Spanish, or simply enjoying the quiet company of her family and friends beside the pool. Dee first taught at Cape Hatteras H.S. then moved on to teach Spanish at T.C. Roberson H.S. in Buncombe County, NC for the remainder of her teaching career.

With a loving and giving heart that knew no bounds, Dee shared her smile and laughter with everyone she met, but reserved the best especially for her family, on whom she doted beyond all of her other devotions. After a long period of enduring the humiliations of Alzheimer's, Dee finally found peace after succumbing to the complications resulting from a broken hip. She will be forever in our hearts.

No es un adiós, sino un hasta luego.
