Mrs. Diane Baker, 86, of Cumming passed away Saturday, November 8, 2025. Diane was born in Atlanta to her parents, Walter and Minnie Pickard Lawrence.
Diane dedicated 32 years of service to the children of Fulton County, Georgia, as a middle and high school teacher and counselor. Her service included Russell High School, Hapeville High School, Westwood High School, Paul D. West Middle School, Tri-Cities High School, Holcomb Bridge Middle School, Riverwood High School, and Centennial High School.
Diane loved writing, painting, dancing, and creating lifelong memories with her loved ones. Her spirit lives on in the lives of the students who grew through her efforts as a teacher, the lives of the students who healed from her guidance as a counselor, and in the lives of all those who were touched by her stories, traditions, and kindness. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered with love.
Diane was a beloved mother to her children, Brian Calvin Baker, Sheila Baker Richardson, and Carla Baker Nelson. She is the esteemed mother-in-law of Lee Richardson, and adored grandmother to Connor and Destin Baker, and Katelyn and Callie Nelson.
A Graveside service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, November 14, 2025, at the Sawnee View Gardens.
