Carmen Marie Baker
1945-2025
Carmen Marie (Cress) Baker 80, of Mobile, passed away on Monday Nov. 10, 2025.
She was the only child of Winifred (Black) Cress and Raymond A. Cress, born on March 30, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska and raised in Holton and Topeka, Kansas.
On March 13, 1965 she was united in marriage to Marion V. Baker in Memphis, TN., settled in Memphis for several years then moved to Mobile, Alabama.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband Marion, she is survived by her two sons, Brian A. Baker and Eric V. Baker of Mobile. One daughter Denise Marie Barton (Jeannie) of Lucedale, MS
Carmen graduated salutatorian from Davidson High School in 1963 (The first graduating class of Davidson). Carmen enjoyed her role as mother of her 3 children and also was a proud member of the Providence Hospital Auxiliary. Carmen and Marion celebrated their 60" wedding anniversary with a trip to Branson, MO. and then on to Topeka, Ks where her cousins had a great celebration planned.
There will be a graveside service held at mobile memorial gardens. Family is asking for everyone to gather at the funeral home at 1:30 PM on Monday, November 17th, 2025 and the graveside service to start at 2:00 PM
