Diane S. Borske, 79, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility in Crystal Falls, MI.
She was born on December 25, 1945, in Peru, IN, the daughter of the late Wayne and Anna (Beckman) Stapleton. She moved to the Alvin and Nelma area of Wisconsin as a toddler with her parents. She attended the Elvoy School through the 8th grade and then attended and graduated from Iron River High School, with the Class of 1964.
Diane married Norman Borske on June 20, 1964, at St. Mark’s Lutheran Church of Stambaugh, MI, and the couple were lifelong residents of the area. They celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year.
She was an active member of St. Mark’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and taught Sunday School for 28 years. Diane enjoyed being a wife, mother, grandma, and full-time homemaker, and also an encourager through her card ministry. She loved the beauty and blessings of God’s creation. Diane enjoyed cooking and baking, and sharing it with others brought her joy. Caring for the yard and flowers with Norman was a favorite past-time along with feeding and watching the birds.
Diane is survived by her husband, Norman; son, Bruce (Cindy) Borske of Iron River, MI; brothers, Alfred (Judy) Stapleton of Meddleburg, FL, Leslie (Donna) Stapleton, Mark Stapleton, Gary Stapleton, all of Alvin, and Curt Stapleton of Wausau, WI; sisters-in-law, Joyce Stapleton of Iron River, MI and Dorothy Vaughn of Buffalo, TX; numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ronald, Kenneth, and Terry Stapleton.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron River. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Jason Liebenow to officiate.
Interment will be in Lakeview Cemetery of Alvin, WI.
