Sandra L. Skovera, 81, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Iron River Care Center.
She was born on June 4, 1944, in Harvard, IL, the daughter of the late Lavern A. “George” and June (Househoulder) Knapp. She attended the Zion, IL Schools and graduated.
She was employed as a CNA and worked in nursing homes. Sandra enjoyed taking care of her garden and potted plants, riding four-wheelers, fishing, and sitting by the campfire. She was also active with the Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Sandra is survived by her sons, Roger (Debbie) Bloom of Iron River and Michael Wesley of Iron Mountain, MI; daughters, Diana Burbank of Kingsford, MI, Debra King of Iron River, and Rose (Steve) Kakuk of Iron Mountain, MI; sister, Bernice Knapp of Iron River; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
She was also preceded in death by her sister, Darlene; brother, Kenneth; and granddaughter, Marie.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Iron River. There will be fellowship and refreshments after the service.
Interment will be in North Shore Garden of Memories in North Chicago, IL.
