Diane Boughton

Diane M. Boughton, a long time resident of St. Johns, Michigan, died at her home on January 17, 2024 at the age of 81.
She was born in Lansing on November 20, 1942, the daughter of Maurice and Adriana (Vols) Smith. Diane enjoyed working in administration with DeWitt Public Schools for many years.
Diane was preceded in death by Clare, her beloved husband of over fifty-six years in 2017. She and Clare enjoyed traveling, spending winters in Dunnellon, Florida, along with playing many rounds of golf together. She was a devoted Christian and a faithful member at First Baptist Church in St. Johns. Often times you would find Diane painting or quilting which were some of her favorite hobbies. Above all else she will be remembered for her giving spirt, kind heart, and love for her family and pets.
She is survived by her daughters, Lori Fonger of Kalamazoo and Tammy Hite of DeWitt; six grandchildren, Matthew, Ryan, Rachael, Benjamin, Jason and Olivia; great granddaughters, Kira and Myla; sisters-in-law, Donna (Marvin) O'Dell of St. Johns and Dolores Boughton of Holt, and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation will be held at McGeehan Funeral Home, Keck-Coleman Chapel, 1500 Waterford Parkway, St. Johns, on Monday, January 22, 2024 from 4:00-7:00pm. A Funeral Service will be held at the First Baptist Church of St. Johns, 512 S. Whittemore St., St. Johns, on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at 11:00am with Pastor Tim Knaus officiating. A luncheon will follow at the church. Following the luncheon burial will take place at DeepDale Cemetery in Lansing. Memorials may be made in her name to Capital Area Humane Society.
