Diane E. Carson

Diane E. (Walsh) Harrington Carson, 87, of Storrs, wife of the late Eugene "Kit" Carson, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, after a brief illness. She was born on October 18, 1937, in Hartford, Connecticut, to William and Eleanor (Gougee) Walsh.
Diane spent the last thirty years of her life in Storrs, where she made a lasting impact on the residents of both Rolling Hills and Juniper Hill Village. A devoted nurse, she spent sixteen years caring for newborns and infants in the Newborn and Intensive Care Nurseries at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford. Additionally, Diane devoted twenty-five years to working with Dr. Rouse, ENT, in Willimantic.
Diane was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Michelle Doyon. She is survived by her two sons, Mark Harrington and his wife, Melissa Shea, and Matthew Harrington and his wife, Johanna; her son-in-law, Gary Doyon; her nine grandchildren, SFC Andrew Doyon and his wife, Victoria, Nicholas Doyon, Dustin Terrio and his wife, Shannon, Moriah (Doyon) Beckerman and her husband, Brian, Peyton Sanborn and her husband, Tyler, Delaney Harrington, Lindsey Harrington, Camden Harrington, and Collin Harrington; and her five great-grandchildren, Lucien, Dexter, Rhea, Amelia, and Wesley. Diane is also survived by her brother, William Walsh and his wife, Melba, and their children, Sherry, Bonnie, Terry, Tracy, and Bill Jr.; as well as her husband's family, Michelle and Reed Kalagher, their son Shawn, his wife Jodi, and their children, Sophia and Lillian. Diane is also survived by her dear cousin, Carol Shaughnessy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, January 11, 2025, beginning at 10 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Parish – St. Bernard Church, 25 St. Bernard Terrace, Rockville. Guests are asked to please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery, Rockville. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
