Diane Gwendolyn Daniel

Diane Gwendolyn Daniel, of St. James, MO, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025 at the age of 73.
Diane was born on March 23, 1952 in Rolla, MO to the late Cornell A. Licklider and Wanda L. (Lewis) Licklider. On May 27, 1978 she married Douglas A. Daniel in Cuba, MO.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, James Daniel, brother-in-law, Richard Grotha; and two nieces, Casey Jo Licklider and Nichole Licklider.
Diane devoted her life to faith, family, and service, leaving a legacy of love and impact. She faithfully served as the director of a Christian preschool for 39 years, shaping young hearts with kindness and God's word. A cofounder and devoted member of Solid Rock Christian Church for 33 years, Diane was a cornerstone of the congregation and a steadfast prayer warrior. She was baptized in June 1970, the same year she graduated from Cuba High School. She retired from her career as a dedicated pharmacy technician at Kmart, where she worked for 20 years while her focus was on her ministry teaching a multitude of children about the love of Jesus. Diane's life was marked by humility, compassion, and unwavering faith. Although she is no longer with us, we know that Diane is walking with her Lord and Savior Jesus.
Diane will be greatly missed by her surviving family which includes: her husband, Douglas "Doug" Daniel of St. James, MO; a son, Matthew Daniel of St. James, MO; one daughter, Heather Nelson and husband, Jermiah of Rolla, MO; one brother, Roger Licklider and wife, Valerie of Rolla, MO; her mother-in-law, Ruth Daniel of Cuba, MO; two brothers-in-law, David Daniel and Dale Daniel and wife, Brenda; a sister-in-law, Debbie (Daniel) Grotha; six grandchildren, Melissa Riggins and husband, Cody, Bradley Daniel and girlfriend, Monica MacDonald, Emily Daniel and boyfriend, Cameron Pippin, Tucker Daniel and girlfriend, Emmaline Hunt, Hayden Daniel, and Maia Nelson; two great grandchildren, Elizabeth Daniel and Evelyn Daniel; several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and many friends.
A funeral service for Diane G. Daniel will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla. Interment will follow in the Licklider Cemetery in Jakes Prairie, MO. A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025 at the funeral home.
