Diane Susannah David, daughter of Edward J. Burns and Ruby D. Burns was born on April 24th 1947 in Kingston, PA. Her early childhood was spent in Dallas PA. When she was ten years old, her family moved to Lakewood, NY where her father was an executive with the Jamestown Telephone Company ( now ALTEL). Growing up, Diane enjoyed the lake just down the street with the dock and the swimming area, the country club and her new friends with some of whom she maintained contact to this day.
In 1967 she met a young sailor Karoly (Kari) David and they married on May 4th, 1968. Diane became a mother, home maker and a Navy wife. She ran the household and raised two fine men, Edward and Richard David while her husband was away on assignments and at school. The family lived in New Jersey, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba and Maryland. Diane and Kari recently moved to Fredericksburg from La Plata.
Diane's greatest love and joy in life was her family, along with music (piano), art (oil painting, you could always count on a new painting for Christmas) but, above all she loved God and the Orthodox Church. Because she was a homemaker, she was able to help in raising the grandchildren and pass her values on to them.
Diane always had a smile and a kind word for everyone and was loved and respected by most. She is survived by her husband Karoly (Kari) of 56 years, her children Edward and Richard David, her grandchildren Kara M. David, Rachael L. David (Lee), Alexander M. David, great grand daughter Natalie R. David and her beloved daughter-in-law Laurie David and her youngest surviving brother Edward J. Burns of Monroeville, PA.
She had a great love for her family, her neighbors, her church and her church family, but, above all she loved God.
May our Lord, God and Savior Jesus Christ have mercy on her soul and grant her rest where the Saints and the righteous repose. Memory eternal

It´s been the first year since the passing of my dear cousin. No phone calls of teasing and giggling with each other. No heartfelt conversations. My prayers are for those more in the vicinity who love her as much as I do. Our Lord lives and will unite us in eternity.

Diane and I are first cousins. We always enjoyed getting together to share clothes, stories of our lives, teasing, giggling
( a lot) and being mischievous. Our mothers decided that we were like "bookends." If one was doing something, the other was close by and that included getting into trouble by jumping on the bed as if it was a trampoline. Diane was the sister I never had. Our later years were filled with great conversations and perspectives on life. We shared our love of art work, music and our devotion to Christ. I love her and will miss her greatly.
