Verna Elizabeth (Gale) Biancuzzo
April 14, 1932 – November 1, 2025
Verna Elizabeth (Gale) Biancuzzo, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished sister, passed away peacefully on November 1, 2025, in Westmoreland County, Virginia, at the age of 93.
Born on April 14, 1932, Verna grew up in the Arizona/New Mexico area, where she enjoyed a wonderful childhood helping on the family farm. She took great pride in contributing to daily chores and always looked out for her siblings-especially her twin brother, Verl.
Verna was preceded in death by her parents, James Otto Gale and Alice Elizabeth (Snow) Gale; and siblings Willard Gale, Edward Gale, Verl Gale (her twin brother), and Virginia Wells. She is survived by her sister, Alice Collene Venable, the last living member of her immediate Gale family.
Verna's life changed when she met and fell in love with a young military man who became her husband and the father of her four daughters. Together they embraced the adventures of a military lifestyle, moving to different parts of the world. Through every change and challenge, Verna created a loving, stable home, always ensuring her daughters felt deeply cared for and supported.
She is survived by her four daughters: Linda Gale Gentry, Patricia Ann Hendrickson, Cynthia Alice Boyd (William), and Candy Lee White (Gregg). Verna was the proud grandmother of eight: Beau Gentry, Michael Gentry, Cary (CJ) Hendrickson, Billy Hendrickson, Tammie Jones (David), Tina White (Scott), Kristine Williams, and Travis White. Her legacy continues through her sixteen great-grandchildren and her great-great-grandchildren.
Verna's creativity and craftsmanship were extraordinary. She had an incredible passion for sewing, often creating matching dresses for her daughters that reflected both beauty and love. Her talents extended to knitting, needlepointing, crocheting, beading, doll making, and ceramic painting. Over the years, she handcrafted countless family treasures-bridal gowns, maid-of-honor dresses, men's suits, prom and formal wear, and many other heirlooms that will continue to be cherished by generations to come. Truly, there was nothing she could not make with her hands and her heart.
Verna's life was one of devotion-to her family, her faith, and the simple joys of creating and giving. She will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her endless talents, and the love she poured into everything she did.
Visitation will be on Friday, November 14, 2025, from 11:00 AM until time of Service at 1:00 PM at Raymond Funeral Service, 5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment will be private.
