Helen Beatrice Heier, 78, of Swan Point, Maryland, passed away peacefully on November 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born in La Plata, Maryland, Helen was one of seven children and the cherished daughter of the late Albert and Helen Tippett.
Helen lived with grace, kindness, and a deep Catholic faith that guided her throughout her life. She always greeted the world with a warm smile - one that never faded, even through life's challenges. Her gentle strength, compassion, and unwavering love for others will remain her enduring legacy.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Helen found her greatest joy in caring for her family. She shared a beautiful marriage with her late husband, Robert Heier, and together they built a loving home grounded in faith, respect, and unity. Helen was a proud and devoted mother to her three children: David Moreland Jr., Joann Acton (husband Glenn), and Darren Heier (wife Jenny).
Her heart was fullest in the presence of her grandchildren, who brought her immeasurable joy: Marisa and Ryan Heier, Zoey and Bryden Acton, and Olivia and Emma Moreland.
Helen loved being outdoors and took great pride in working outside - a peaceful place where she found fulfillment and joy. She always had a smile to share, a gentle word of encouragement, and a welcoming spirit that made everyone feel at home in her presence.
In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Helen is reunited in Heaven with those who have gone before her. She is survived by her loving siblings: Pat Jackson, Becky Sanders, Chrissie McInturff, Sally Morey, Gilbert Tippett, and Michael Tippett, along with many extended family members and friends whose lives she touched.
Helen served her community with pride. She was a past President of the Charles County Chamber of Commerce, an active member of the Southern Maryland Women's League, and served on the board of the Charles Regional Medical Center Foundation. Her leadership, generosity, and commitment to serving others left a lasting impact on the Southern Maryland community she loved.
Family and friends will be received for a viewing on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Raymond Funeral Home, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, Maryland 20646. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 13715 Notre Dame Place, Bryantown, Maryland 20617. Interment will follow at the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helen's favorite charities - the Southern Maryland Women's League, Charles County Chamber of Commerce, Charles Regional Medical Center Foundation, and the Southern Maryland Food Bank. Flowers are also welcome, as Helen found joy in their beauty and in the peace of the outdoors she so loved.
