Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Diane (Di) Elaine Del Monte, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2024, at the age of 78, in Minnetonka, Minnesota. She was the devoted wife of Louis Del Monte for over 56 years, a nurturing mother to her two sons, Bryan and Christian, and a cherished grandmother.
Diane's life was a testament to kindness, strength, and faith. A dedicated wife and mother, she exemplified the values of Ephesians 4:32: "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
Her husband, Louis, lovingly reflected on her passing: "My wife, Di, lived life to the fullest and always put her family first. She was my soulmate and stood by me through good and difficult times. Di's warmth and wisdom enriched everyone she met. As Chairwoman of our family business, she was a brilliant strategist. As a mother and grandmother, she was our family's true north. I know with certainty that the Lord, Jesus Christ, welcomed her into his kingdom with the words, 'Well done.'"
Diane was a gifted fine artist whose talents spanned multiple media, including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pottery, and sculpture. Her art not only graced her family's home but also brought joy to countless others. She shared her passion as a high school art teacher in New Jersey and New York and generously gifted her creations to family and friends. At home, her creativity flourished in every corner, from her beautifully painted walls to her picture-perfect Christmas celebrations. Among her favorite memories was receiving "Pucky," a beloved black Labrador retriever, as a holiday gift.
Despite living with chronic fibromyalgia, Diane excelled in sports. She was an accomplished golfer, serving as President of the Lakeview Ladies Golf League in Mound, Minnesota, where she inspired a love for the game among new players. She also bowled competitively, earning a first-place league championship, and spent many hours fishing Minnesota's lakes, often reeling in the biggest catch.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, Louis; her son Bryan, and his wife Susan; her other son Christian and his fiancé Becky Glander; her treasured grandchildren, Kathryn Del Monte, Elizabeth Del Monte, Mercedes Del Monte, Faith Corn, and Ariyan Albers; and her sister, Ellen Chiaramonte. She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Charles Cuidera, and her brother, Charles (Chip) Cuidera.
Her legacy of love, creativity, and compassion will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to The National Fibromyalgia Association in honor of Diane's strength and grace in facing chronic pain.
