Diane Dermer Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A Better Place Funeral & Cremation Services on Dec. 4, 2025.
Diane Kay Dermer, age 80, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2025, surrounded by loving friends and family. Born in Sterling, Colorado, Diane led an extraordinary, active and full life. Over her 50-year career, Diane was an educator and motivational speaker; her final working years before retiring were as a financial advisor with Edward Jones, where she impacted the lives of literally hundreds of clients and fellow advisors.
Diane was a voracious reader and performing arts enthusiast. She also traveled extensively during her lifetime and visited all seven continents, often accompanied by family members - in particular her sister Jami, niece Chloe and nephews Tyler and Derek, all of whom called her Dido.
In retirement Diane pursued her passion for birding with trips, to name a few, Antarctica, Australia, New Zealand and India to spot, photograph and later paint birds of those regions. More recently, she greatly enjoyed several years of watercolor classes at the Denver Botanic Gardens, concentrating on birds and botanicals.
Diane will be remembered for her lifelong curiosity of all things interesting, and her fierce and enduring love of family. Preceded in death by her parents and her nephew Tyler, Diane is survived by her sister, Jami Dermer-Terlingen, nephew Derek Fritzler, niece Chloe Terlingen, and two grandnieces, Emerson and Daisy Fritzler. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, December 19 from 11-2pm at the Woodland Mosaic conservatory on the Denver Botanic Gardens grounds To send flowers to the family or plant a tree in memory of Diane, please visit our floral store.
