Diane DiPerte Obituary

Diane S. DiPerte (nee Smolik), who was 71 years old died on August 30, 2025.
She was married for 48 years to Michael DiPerte, who predeceased her. Diane was mother to Stephen DiPerte (Grace) and to Allison DiPerte Matist (Rich). She is survived by 2 granddaughters, Emelia DiPerte and Kate Matist. She is also survived by her sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Jack Burchill and her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Cindy and Lloyd Patti.
Diane was a first grade teacher at P.S. 45, Staten Island, retiring 13 years ago. In her retirement, she and her husband loved to travel on Viking River Cruises to explore Europe. She also enjoyed spending time with her granddaughters, hosting annual Christmas cookie baking parties. During the summers, she could often be found cross stitching and reading outside, admiring her husband's garden.
After Michael's passing this Spring, she treasured her many friends and deeply appreciated their love and support.
The funeral will be held on Saturday September 6, 2025. Viewing begins at 9:00 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 121 Cleveland Avenue, Staten Island, NY. Church services will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Moravian Cemetery.

I worked with the lovely Diane at PS 45 for over 12 years. She was a wonderful colleague and teacher. She always looked to find solutions to problems and had a positive attitude. She always greeted you with a smile. I´m happy to have known her and worked along side of her. God bless her beautiful family. Bless her soul. With love , Rosanne Mangione
