Michael DiPerte, who was 72 years old died on May 24, 2025. He was born on July 8, 1952 in Brooklyn, NY. He was a resident of Staten Island since 1967.
He was married for 48 years to Diane DiPerte (nee Smolik). Michael was father to Stephen DiPerte (Grace) and to Allison DiPerte Matist (Rich). He is
survived by 2 granddaughters, Emelia DiPerte and Kate Matist.
He is also survived by his sister and brother-in-law Cindy and Lloyd Patti as well as sister-in-law and brother-in-law Nancy and Jack Burchill.
Michael was a budget analyst for the United States Justice Department. He was retired for 13 years. During retirement, he and his wife enjoyed
traveling. They visited Europe many times (with Paris being a favorite spot) Havana, Cuba and took many cruises, most recently sailing to Bermuda with
their family. They frequented the Berkshires and enjoyed visiting wineries.
Michael was an avid gardener and took pride in the beauty of his home.
He and his wife loved theater, especially Broadway and The Papermill
Playhouse. He enjoyed listening to classical music and opera.
Michael was an expert on the barbeque and was known for his salmon with the secret sauce.
He was a kind, generous, and loving gentleman who will be missed by all.
The funeral will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2025. Viewing begins at 10:30 am at Christ Lutheran Church, 121 Cleveland Avenue, Staten Island,
NY. Church services will be held at 11:15 am. Burial will be at Moravian Cemetery.

I am so sorry for your loss. Mike was a truly wonderful person and a great colleague. Work was not the same without him. I am happy that you were able to enjoy 13 years of his retirement. Hoping happier memories of better times bring you all comfort during this sad time.
