It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Diane Marie (McGee) Dutra who left us peacefully at the age of 81 on October 15th, 2025. She was the wife of the late Paul Costa Dutra for 57 years. Diane lived a life centered on love and family. Her happiest moments were those spent caring for others, especially her late husband Paul, whom she loved dearly. Their bond was a testament to true partnership and enduring love. Paul passed on June 25th of this year, three months and three weeks prior to Diane.
Born in Fall River, MA on September 23rd, 1944, Diane was the daughter of the late Dorothy (O'Connor) and Raymond McGee, as well as the oldest sibling of seven younger brothers. Diane attended high school with the intention of becoming a nun, a path she later decided against - to the great relief of her future children. She spent many years working as a bank teller, a role that perfectly suited her friendly nature and allowed her to form lasting connections with countless people. Diane was a woman of deep faith, a devoted animal lover, and someone who never turned down the chance for a new adventure.
A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, sister-in-law and daughter, Diane found immense joy in being a grandmother to her three grandchildren, who were the light of her life. Whether it was sharing stories, offering guidance, or simply spending time together, she poured her heart into every moment with them.
Family was everything to her. She was the heart of our home, always present, always supportive, and always deeply involved in our lives. Her warmth, generosity, and quiet strength left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, her nurturing spirit, and the countless ways she showed up for those she cared about.
Diane is survived by two daughters, Catherine Juutilainen, son-in-law Jeremy and grandson Jake of Barrington, RI and Jennifer Fallon, son-in-law Michael and grandson Quinn and granddaughter Kate of Wellesley, MA. Diane is also survived by her doting brothers, Michael McGee (Tricia) of Plymouth, MA, Patrick McGee (Maureen) of Fort Myers, FL and Stephen McGee of Mashpee,MA, sisters-in-law Debbie McGee, Donnie McGee, Lori McGee and Esther Dutra; as well as brother and sister in-law Martin and Linda Dutra. In addition to Paul, Diane was preceded in death by her beloved son Tommy, her brothers Barry, Kevin, Robert and Richard.
