1964, she married husband Gary Gibson. Aside from being a loving and resilient mother and Army wife, she worked as an administrative assistant for Schwans Food Service for many
years, where she earned high accolades, including Employee of the Year. At home and in her free time, she turned her love and passion for gardening into an art, achieving certification as a Kansas Master Gardener.
Di is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Gary; her two children, Terry Gibson and Belinda Ward (Gibson), and their partners, Petia and Randy, respectively; grandchildren
Kayla, Steve, and Kalina; great-grandchildren Anton, Alice, Westley, Raven, Piper, and Kora (who is expected to arrive in December). Di was preceded in passing by her parents, Don
and Phyllis, and her in-laws, Lawrence and Aileen. Graveside services will begin at 11:00 A.M.
Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Abilene City Cemetery. Family will receive friends and relatives from 10:00 A.M. until the service time at Martin-Becker-Carlson Funeral Home in Abilene, KS.
