Raylene Emily (Beadleston) Alvarez 87, Abilene Kansas passed away at the Wakefield Rehabilitation and Care Center on June 23, 2025. She was the second born child to Ralph E Beadleston and Grace (Yantiss) Beadleston at their home near Oak Hill, Kansas on March 20, 1938.
Raylene attended grade school in a one room schoolhouse 'just over the hill'. She graduated with the class of 1956 from DCCHS in Chapman, Kansas.
She married Jerry Joyce in May 1956 and brought Denise, Rhonda, Doug and David to this union. They later divorced.
She worked at Southwestern Bell as a phone operator for a short time. As well as in the bakery at West's grocery.
On May 20, 1968, she married Raymond M. Alvarez. To this union came Daryl and Kevin plus a host of stepchildren.
Raylene had the greatest heart, filled with love and pride for each and every child. She was an excellent mother, and a loving grandmother.
She was a member of the Abilene Eagles Auxiliary,
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, brother Larry Beadleston, brother-in-law Jr. Gfeller and son-in-law Oscar Ybarra
Left behind to mourn, her children Denise (Brad) Bock, Salina, Ks, Rhonda (Ivan) Sellers, Douglas Joyce, David (Dana) Joyce all of Abilene, Ks, Daryl (Shadra) Alvarez Chapman, Ks, Kevin Alvarez Enterprise, Ks. Her bonus children Robert 'Bob' (Shari) Alvarez Southaven, MS, Rose Ybarra, Nick (Debbie) Alvarez both of Salina, KS, Mona (Larry) Slothower Abilene, KS, Rita (Dave) Gerhke Herington, KS, Rick (Jessica) Alvarez Moundridge, KS, Rachel (Ken) Krier Salina, KS. Her Sisters Joyce Gfeller Chapman, KS and Deborah (Don) Fultz, Oak Hill, Virginia sister-in-law Carol Beadleston Solomon, KS. Combined family total 37 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren, and #59 baby girl Alvarez on the way in August.
Service for Raylene will be Saturday June 28, 2025, 2:00PM at the Emmanual Church 1300 N Vine Abilene, KS. Visitation will be Friday June 27th from 5-7 at the Danner Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, as an everlasting tribute to Raylene all donations will be put towards her headstone. In this way we can together honor her memory forever.
