Diane Hewitt, of Grove City, Ohio, age 73, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on September 5, 2024. She was born to Julius and her beloved mother Elizabeth Taggi in Monticello, New York on April 15, 1951. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Tim Hewitt and their three children: Elizabeth (Joel Wichtman) Hewitt, Katie (Charlie) Dean, and Patrick ( Chelsea) Hewitt. Diane also had six grandchildren that she adored: Elle, Anna Claire, and Charlotte Dean, Jack and Kathryn Wichtman, and Quinn Louise Hewitt. Also her sister Sharon (Dale) Culver, brother Richard Taggi, nephews Seth and Nathan Culver and her close friend Diane “Rowlands” Kvam.

Diane, from Elmira, New York, graduated from Brockport State College in 1973 where she earned her undergraduate degree in Elementary Education. In 1975 she graduated with her Masters from Elmira College. Diane taught in the Taconic School District in the Berkshires of Upstate New York for five years before moving to Fairport, New York, then onto Solon, Ohio and subsequently to Grove City Ohio.

Diane’s dedication and love of her family was respected and admired by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

 Arrangements for her Funeral Mass will be determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers Diane would have preferred any donations to be made in her memory to St. Jude’s’s Children’s Research Hospital at: stjude.org
