Diane Hjorth Kropf passed away on October 12, 2025 after a battle with dementia. She was born in Payson, Utah to Don Carlos and Louise Averett Hjorth on July 25, 1953. Diane was raised in Mapleton, Utah and attended Springville High School. After graduating high school, she attended Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho where she met her sweetheart Steven Nelson Kropf. They were married on May 10, 1974 in the Salt Lake Temple.
They settled in Wellsville, Utah where they raised 5 kids. Diane had several jobs throughout Cache Valley but her last job was a checker at Ridley’s Market in Hyrum where she made many friends. Diane loved camping in the Tetons or in Yellowstone and looking for the bear 399 and her cubs. She loved her 9 grandkids and spending time with them. She loved baking- especially making chocolate chip cookies- and canning the produce from her garden and sharing with family and friends. She also loved to crochet and made hundreds of dishrags and hot pads that she loved to give away.
She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and enjoyed her various callings and helping Steve in his various scout callings. She was always happiest when she could serve in Primary and loved children.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers - Don and Charlie, a sister - Nolene, her husband Steve, and son Michael. She is survived by one sister -Ellen, a daughter Beth Louise Fambrough (Jeff), a son Jared (Sharon), daughter-in-law Carly, a son Timothy, and a daughter Amanda Williams (Quintin), and 9 grandkids who she loved dearly - Holly, Abbigail, Taylor, Lilian, Annie, Henry, Finley, Piper, and Brailee.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Quail Meadows Assisted Living Facility and all of the compassionate CNA’s, nurses, and doctors who tended to her there.
A viewing will be held at the Wellsville 3rd Ward located at 49 W 200 S in Wellsville, UT on Thursday, October 23 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Friday, October 24 from 9:30-10:30 a.m. with the funeral following at 11:00 a.m.
