HOLY CROSS, IOWA
Diane M. Lucas, 73, of Holy Cross, Iowa passed away Monday, March 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her family after a short, courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation will be held from 2 - 7 p.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024, at Kramer Funeral Home in Holy Cross. Visitation will continue at Kramer Funeral Home from 9 - 10 a.m. prior to funeral mass.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at Holy Cross Catholic Church with burial in the church cemetery. Rev. Tyler Raymond will officiate.
Diane was born on August 3, 1950 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Leon and Kay (Hannan) Link. She married Gerald "Rock" Link Jr. on August 31, 1974. He passed in February of 1975. She later married Ronald "Hink" Lucas on August 12, 1977 in Holy Cross, Iowa.
Diane was an avid baseball fan, and supporter of the Field of Dreams Ghost Players. She supported Hink in all his baseball endeavors. She will be dearly missed as the loving aunt to all her nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. She and Hink enjoyed traveling together.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Hink; siblings: Debbie (Steve) Ross of Farley, Julie (Rick) Beecher of Dubuque, Sharon (Jim) Schieltz of Luxemburg, Mary (Ray) Hennessy of Whitewater, WI, Randy (Kate) Link of Dubuque, Laurie (Bill) Pfeiler of Dyersville; in-laws: Oran (Joann) Lucas, Garry (Joyce) Lucas; and numerous nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, "Rock," brother, Terry Link; parents-in-law, Clarence and Lena Lucas; and in-laws, Gerald (Elaine) Hansel.
