Jerome L. Errthum, 78, of Dyersville, formerly of Sherrill, Iowa passed away Friday, August 1, 2025, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

There was a private family visitation and funeral service held on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Kramer-Morris Funeral Home in Dyersville, Iowa. Burial was held at St. Francis Cemetery where military honors were accorded.

Jerome was born on December 26, 1946, in Livingston, WI, son of Leo and Frances (Hefel) Errthum. After school, he enrolled in the United States Army where he served from 1967 to 1969. He married Marlene Brimeyer on May 13, 1972, in North Buena Vista.

He worked at Flexsteel for over 30 years and farmed for 53 years. He loved anything western and horses. He enjoyed the many trail rides with family and friends. Jerome and Marlene had several campouts, especially at Camp Cowpie.

Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Marlene; son: Robert (Denise) Errthum, Kerry Errthum, two granddaughters: Lilly and Izabelle; siblings: Gen Pike, Mary Hayes, Kathy Rudebeck, Barb Taylor, Leon (Elaine) Errthum, Ed (Deb) Errthum; in-laws: Carol Errthum, Mary Lou Meyer, Joanne (Tom) Oberbroeckling, Judy (Dick) Boeckenstedt, Ken (Dorothy) Brimeyer, Darlene (Larry) Boeckenstedt, Steve (Bonnie) Brimeyer, and Karen Turner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, parents-in-law, Ray and Alvina Brimeyer; siblings: Donald (Carol) Errthum, Allen Errthum, Nick (Carol) Errthum, Robert (Phyllis) Errthum; in-laws: John Taylor, Richard Hayes, Pat (Clark) Lange, Roger Meyer, Tom Turner, Wayne Rudebeck, and Kathy Brimeyer.

The family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Dubuque, especially Kris, Morgan, and Jenny. Also, a thank you to Dr. Engelmann and Tammy Noonan.

He is leading the trail ride into Heaven riding Camanche!

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hospice of Dubuque.
