PETERSBURG, IOWA

Harley H. Willenborg, 96, of Petersburg, was born into eternal life on Saturday, August 30, 2025.

Visitation will be held at the Kramer-Morris Funeral Home, 750 12th Ave SW in Dyersville, from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, September 4, 2025. Visitation will continue at the funeral home from 9-10 a.m. on Friday.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg with burial in the church cemetery.

Harley Willenborg was born May 25, 1929, in Petersburg, the son of Edward and Mary Willenborg. He married Rose Ann Rubly on August 29, 1950, in Petersburg and together they farmed east of Petersburg. He was a lifelong member of SS Peter and Paul Parish and a member of the Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight.

In addition to farming, Harley sold feed, livestock feeders, and built numerous corn bins in the area. He spent over 20 years as a Pioneer seed salesman before retiring. Known for his kindness, ingenuity, and gentle nature, he could solve almost any problem. He most loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed cards, golf, and fishing.

He was a great man, strong, simple, kind, witty, and creative in finding solutions to any problem. He cherished time with family and friends, and found joy in playing cards, golfing, and fishing. His life was long, full, and well-lived. To sum it up in just three words: He LOVED life! There is comfort in knowing that heaven is now enjoying his presence as much as his family and friends did on earth.

He is survived by his 3 children: Neil (Marie) of Petersburg, Lynn (Mark) Vining of Iowa City, and Tammy (Scott) Auderer of Ankeny; 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Rose Ann Willenborg; a son, Keith Willenborg; and siblings: Anselm Willenborg, Delbert Willenborg, Ernestine Krapfl and Modesta Loecke.

The family would like to thank the staff at Good Neighbor Home and Regional Medical Center Wound Clinic in Manchester for their compassionate care over the past several months.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SS. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Petersburg.
