Diane Aline Miller (Palmer), 77, of Southfield, MI, passed away on Sunday, July 6, 2025 at home. She was born on February 21, 1948, the daughter of Fred and Dorothy Palmer.
Diane was born in Detroit, Michigan. She graduated from Haston High School in Dearborn Heights, MI, in 1965. Diane was an amazing homemaker with great attention to detail in cleaning and maintaining the family home. She also loved to garden, both flowers and vegetables. Her backyard nature trail walk was absolutely beautiful and even showcased a soothing waterfall feature. For several years, her outdoor Christmas decorations won the City of Walled Lake best-decorated house award. Diane's love of nature led her to travel the beaches of the Florida Keys and Hawaii (actually living here for a couple of years), the mountains and rugged coastlines of Alaska, and eventually retire to Michigan's beautiful Upper Peninsula. Diane loved to walk her dogs on the beaches of the Great Lakes. She raised three nature-loving children as well. Diane also passed her love of animals to her children, especially dogs. At the time of her passing, her little Havenese, Coco, was right beside her.
Diane is preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Palmer, and her brother, Roger Palmer, of Walled Lake, MI, nephew Scott Palmer, of Taylor, MI and her grandson, Joey Miner, of Howell. She is survived by her brother, Rick (Jane) Palmer of Salies-de-Bearn, France, her daughter, Cindy (Ron) Miner of Hartland, MI, her son, Rob (Jen) Wagner, of Pinckney, MI, her daughter, Christine (Ryan) Johnson, of Denver, CO, her grandchildren, Katie Sypniewski, Karissa (Chad) Robinson, John Sypniewski, Wilson Wagner, and Myles Wagner, and her great grandchildren, Owen Robinson and Emma Robinson, her nephew, Dan Palmer, of Toledo, OH, and her great niece, Ashley Palmer, of Chicago, IL.
A private celebration of life will be held by her loving family on Saturday, July 12, 2025, at her daughter, Cindy's, lakehouse. We are honoring her wishes of "no funeral" while still taking time as a family to celebrate our matriarch. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Diane, please visit our Tree Store.
