Diane Reitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Beck-Givnish Funeral Home, Inc. on Mar. 11, 2026.
Diane Distler Reitz, 77, of Levittown, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, at Fox Chase Cancer Center. Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Diane lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and an unwavering dedication to the people and causes she loved.

Diane devoted much of her life to caring for others through her work in healthcare. She began her career as a Registered Nurse in the operating room, where she served patients for more than 20 years. Driven by her commitment to growth and excellence in her profession, she later earned both a bachelor's and a master's degree, further advancing her career in healthcare leadership.

After retiring from her healthcare career, Diane continued to live with the determination and energy that defined her life. A certified personal trainer and Zumba instructor, she inspired many people to pursue healthier, stronger lives. After experiencing heart disease herself, Diane became deeply committed to raising awareness and funds for the American Heart Association, organizing and leading multiple Zumba-THON fundraising events. She was also the co-founder, alongside her beloved friend Captain David A. Christian, of the Victor Six Health and Fitness Organization, supporting the wellness of veterans. Diane remained deeply devoted to this mission, continuing to give her time, energy, and leadership to the organization up until shortly before her passing.

Diane is survived by her husband of 58 years, Ronald Reitz, and her two daughters, Cheryl Jean Reitz-Noe and Joan Marie Reitz-Hare, to whom she was a devoted and loving mother. She especially cherished her role as a grandmother and was deeply loved by her five granddaughters: Emma Joan Noe and Anne Marie Noe, daughters of Cheryl and her husband, David Noe; and Raegan Diane Hare, Kassidy Dawn Hare, and Quinn Kathryn Hare, daughters of Joan and her husband, Robert Hare. Her daughters and granddaughters were affectionately known as her "gaggle of girls," a term that reflected the immense joy and pride she took in her family. Diane believed deeply in being a strong woman and in raising strong women.

Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Harriet Distler; her brothers, John, Joseph, and James Distler; and her sister, Antoinette Hess.

Despite her many accomplishments in education, healthcare, and community service, Diane would want to be remembered most for the love she had for her family and the people whose lives she touched. She cherished being a wife, mother, and grandmother, often saying that this was the most important job she had ever had. Her devotion to Ronald, Cheryl, Joan, and her five granddaughters-the "gaggle of girls" she adored-was the heart of her life. Beyond her family, Diane was a mother-like figure to countless others, always supportive and willing to help in any way she could. Her compassion, guidance, and generosity left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Family and friends are invited to Diane's Life Celebration on Sunday, March 15, 2026, from 3 PM - 5 PM, at the Beck Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA 19055, then again on Monday, March 16, at St. Mark Catholic Church, 1025 Ratcliffe St., Bristol, PA 19007, from 10 AM - 11 AM, followed by her Funeral Mass at 11 AM. Interment will follow at Bristol Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations in Diane's memory to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (www.pancan.org) or to Fox Chase Cancer Center (www.foxchase.org/giving), whose compassionate staff provided exceptional care to Diane and her family during this past year, or to the Victor Six Health and Fitness Organization (https://victorsixveterans.org/), the veterans' wellness organization she co-founded and remained deeply devoted to throughout her life.
