Ruth W. (nee Werner) Hughes, of Levittown, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 3, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old. Born in Philadelphia, to the late Leroy and Lillian Werner, Ruth grew up in the Rhawnhurst section of the city. She married her husband, Robert Hughes Jr. in 1951. They moved to Levittown in 1954 and became one of the original Levittown homeowners. Ruth was a lifetime Lutheran, as a charter member of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Levittown she taught Sunday school, sang in the choir, served on the church council and the altar guild along with many other church activities. In addition, she was a den mother for Cub Scouts and a troop mother for Girl Scouts. Ruth was proud of her German heritage and loved her family dearly. Ruth will forever be remembered as a beautiful, loyal and faithful person who always put God and family above all.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, Robert Hughes Jr., and her brother, Roy Werner, Ruth is survived by her loving children, Cheryl Hughes, Bob (Elaine) Hughes and Tom Hughes, her cherished grandchildren, Dennis (Kelly), Jared, Bob IV, Will (Liz) and Lauren (Lou), along with 13 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Claire Werner, as well as many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Family and friends are invited to Ruth's Life Celebration on Thursday, March, 12, from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM, followed by her Memorial Service at 12:00 PM, at the Beck-Givnish Life Celebration Home, 7400 New Falls Rd., Levittown, PA 19055. Interment will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery.
