Diane Rundzieher Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Paul Ippolito Berkeley Memorial on Dec. 4, 2025.
Diane Carlucci Rundzieher, born on October 15, 1947, in Newark, New Jersey, passed away on
December 1, 2025, at Autumn Lake Nursing Home in Berkeley Heights, NJ, surrounded by the love of her family.
Diane was the devoted daughter of Ida and Joseph Carlucci, both of whom preceded her in death. One of eight children, she cherished the lifelong bond she shared with her siblings, who were also her closest friends. She is predeceased by Josephine, Roseann, Patty, Lucille, and Mario, and is survived by her sister Louise and her brother Joey.
Diane was previously married to Paul Rundzieher, with whom she raised two children, Paul and
Michelle. A dedicated and loving mother, she centered her life around caring for her family. As a
stay-at-home mom, she took great pride in cooking for her children-putting a homemade meal
on the table every single day-and creating a warm home where everyone felt welcome. Eventually, she worked outside of the home in retail management and later managed a dental office.
She leaves behind her son, Paul Rundzieher, his wife Kim, and their children Katie and PJ; and
her daughter, Michelle McMahon, her husband Chuck, Michelle's daughters Isabella and Sophia
Antonelli, and her stepchildren Sean, Lauren, and Maddy McMahon. Diane held a special place
in her heart for all her grandchildren and shared an especially close bond with Isabella and
Sophia, with whom she lived nearby.
Immensely proud of her Italian heritage, Diane embraced life with warmth, humor, and a spirited
personality. She loved music (often playing her favorite songs on repeat), classic movies (especially anything featuring Al Pacino), and the lively banter of family gatherings. Known for her quick wit, playful sense of humor, and the occasional colorful phrase, she brought laughter into every room she entered. Her family also lovingly remembers her famously terrible sense of direction and her unforgettable driving adventures, which became stories retold with both exasperation and affection. She leaves behind many fond and amusing memories for all who knew her.
"Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality." - Emily Dickenson
A memorial mass celebrating Diane's life will be held at the Church of the Little Flower in
Berkeley Heights, NJ, on Sunday, December 28th at 3 PM.
Her family will forever cherish her memory-her love, her laughter, her traditions, and her
unwavering devotion to those she held dear.
